Expansion Tanks
Fluid compatibility, coolant volume, temperature extremes, system pressure, and the alarm/alert features required on a project-by-project basis are considered when selecting or designing the correct expansion tank for any circuit.
Breather caps can be installed for systems with sensitive pressure limits, where limiting one point of the circuit to atmospheric pressure is advantageous. Typically, breather caps will be used when the expansion tank is located near the pump’s inlet.
Alternatively, industry-standard pressure caps (both positive and negative) can be used for pressurised systems, enabling alternative expansion tank positions and pressure protection elements around the coolant loop.
At Technical Services, we offer a wide choice of materials to suit the shape, volume, fluid compatibility, and quantity required based on the stage of any project. Our range of expansion tanks includes standard products and bespoke designs in various shapes, sizes, and mounting positions.
